CONCEPT

The purpose of Manami is to explore and analyze the meaning of clothing and fashion as a ‘discipline’ while closely observing the needs of a human soul, belonging and personalizing. The act of attaching an artistic element to each garment allows the creator as well as the user to connect, comfort as well as trigger. Words and sounds existing within NFC technology are in the role of breaking down the surface and creating a sense of closeness while building a bond between the object and the buyer.

 
My words act as an invitation to further explore one’s inner world and become curious about the world of others. Making each piece a unique one-off item, I am creating a space for a reconnection between strangers and allowing people to share their thoughts, associations, and memories triggered by the sound of my personal thoughts and observations. 

The collection of sounds carry and build an important space for my words to come in. Coexistence, balance, and completion. The illusion of time, atmosphere, non-physical space, non-existent memories…
